A thought occured

Today, Friday 21st of December 2012 and predicted day of THE END...What have I done on this eventful day so far?

In the early hours, I had went back to my previous posts, added more information, details in certain areas and checked for anything that didn't make sense.

11:30am, British Time, I turned up at the hair salon for my wash, cut and dry appointment. I know this sounds boring so far but bare with me...my usual stylist was as lively as ever, Kayleigh is her name and she amuses me with her tales of weekends and antics that she gets up to. The conversation then headed towards the subject of her attracting males that have mental problems to a certain degree or ones that seems good, hooks up with her and then spilt because the guy has a psycho partner ready to kill Kayleigh!

I asked her if she's been doing anything different? No was the answer, she has the same group of friends, they hang out in the same place, they do the same things and the only slight difference is, she is in College now. From her mid teenage years till now she only attracted these types of guys!

As she continued talking...a switch was flipped deep in my brain. She hasn't changed. She's been doing the same thing, in the same place with the same people for nearly a decade and she expects a different result...???

Then I thought, what about me? Have I been doing certain things again and again without realising but then to expect a different result???

If that applies to me then surely it must be true to everyone else to a certain degree!

I have a few solid examples:

1) What were we taught as a kid? Stick to school, get a good job, save, find a partner, get married, have kids, pay off everything, retire and then enjoy life when your kids have flown the nest...

What are we getting at the end of this process? An elderly couple, who hasn't had much time to enjoy life when they were younger. They tell their children the exact same thing hoping that they can do better! BUT IT WON'T BE NOR CAN THEY!!! These guys are already half way through the cycle and they haven't realised anything and the cycle continues!!

THIS IS MADNESS!!! How can your children live a better life with this out-dated and wrongly organised flow of things? I don't have the answer but I do believe the cycle can be improved if certain stages were re-organised, removed and replaced and or completely change parts of it.

2) People who crashes ALL the "latest" diets, give up and orders a 12" pizza with Diet Coke hoping to lose a few pounds.

Firstly, well done on taking the initiative! However, crashing a diet only gets you back to square one! Think about it! If you were in a car crash, where do you end up? In a hospital from where you were born! Stick to one diet for at least a month before deciding its not for you, give your body time to adjust and show you the results! And do you REALLY think a Diet Coke with a 12" pizza will help? NO BEE-HATCH!!! HAVE A BLOODY SALAD WITH CHICKEN BREAST!!!

Or you can continue your old cycle and get no where!

3) People who wants a high paying job to fund their high-end life style.

I have seen quite a number of these guys, they work super hard, play hard, spend EVERY PENNY of their month's salary and wonder why they are still broke?!

STOP SPENDING LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW!!! A promotion and higher pay will only increase your spending habits, do something different, SPEND LESS & SAVE MONEY. Things like large apartments means high rents...can you afford it? Could you live in a smaller place costing you less? Latest gadgets, I get hooked by these too but I ask myself...do I need it and can I afford it? If a "no" appears once, then I put it down and walk away...

***To clarify, the above examples was not aimed at anyone nor intended to make anybody feel uncomfortable. These stereo types were used because they fit in well with my explanation of result-less cycles***

OK, it seems like I went off on a bit of a tangent but my point is...We all do things in a cycle that doesn't get us anywhere, if we take a few minutes to find the cycle, stop doing it or change parts of it, we would definitely get a better result! What could be more liberating than that??

Honest to the higher beings, this trail of thought came by while I was getting my head groomed! I shall now try to identify where result-less cycles are happening in my life and apply what I have came to realise! Thank you Kayleigh for triggering this line of thought for me!

Its all coming back! :D

Oh Hell yeah!!!!!!!! Remember a month ago I screwed things over a bit with Michelle? After many messages and persuasion, I managed to be "dating her"...I'm not entirely sure what  actually happened... Last Wednesday we had a lunch date...then I asked if she wanted to come with me to look for a new car...I choose to go back to my old place of work (Citroen and Seat dealers), saw a good number of old colleagues and my old manager! We greeted and had a catch up...then they offered me AN ASS KICKING EPIC DEAL... So i bought a car...Seat Ibiza, 1.4litre engine...140 break horse power with a decent 60mpg......in black... Life is pretty sweet just now, (almost) girlfriend and new car...needing a flat to call home :)

My flat!

I was suppose to put this up eons ago! These are the photos of the flat that is mine! Haha. Of course it looks a little basic but it's for renting out and not myself! Here they are!

Upon pondering

Am I happy with what I have? That depends on how you view the situation. I have a flat, I have a car that is paid off, I have a job that pays fairly, I quite enjoy my job except for the hours, I have an awesome girlfriend, I have a few flatmates and I live in the city! The flat is a humble 3 bedroom flat located in the suburbs of Edinburgh. It isn't the most flashiest of homes, I've been getting tradesmen to do work on it for me...windows...new storage space...gas cooker...door adjustments...painting of new door frame...new front door...a drive way and generally tidying up after myself. Being in the flat for 2 months with most of the necessary work almost complete...I can say it is becoming a place I enjoy coming back to after a day at work or somewhere to zone out and chill! Car...I love my SEAT Ibiza FR Black Edition. Sadly I am having trouble with everyone else, I live on a street where parking can be an issue and cars passing by can be very close...back in September some...
