Am I happy with what I have?
That depends on how you view the situation. I have a flat, I have a car that is paid off, I have a job that pays fairly, I quite enjoy my job except for the hours, I have an awesome girlfriend, I have a few flatmates and I live in the city!
The flat is a humble 3 bedroom flat located in the suburbs of Edinburgh. It isn't the most flashiest of homes, I've been getting tradesmen to do work on it for me...windows...new storage space...gas cooker...door adjustments...painting of new door frame...new front door...a drive way and generally tidying up after myself. Being in the flat for 2 months with most of the necessary work almost complete...I can say it is becoming a place I enjoy coming back to after a day at work or somewhere to zone out and chill!
Car...I love my SEAT Ibiza FR Black Edition. Sadly I am having trouble with everyone else, I live on a street where parking can be an issue and cars passing by can be very close...back in September some Jackass bandit hit my car's wing mirror cover off...no damage to the car but the cover needed a polish for the scratches and super glue to keep it on. A few days ago, I found a small chip in the drivers side...it looks like a small stone bounced off the door...very unhappy about that!
I am a waiter. I serve and talk to many different types of people. The work isn't tasking but the hours are not ideal but it does settle the bills!
Girlfriend! (Dear intergalactic lord of the Universe...I love her to bits!) I honestly can't ask for more from this amazing woman...but she holds a darker side...what she would love to do is to move in with me and find a job and start a career in Edinburgh. The problem is...she's duty bound to her parent's business...she is trying to make everyone happy but herself.
Flat mates, I've known these guys since I was in my mid teens and a fantastic bunch they are! They help out...pull their weight and ease me of some financial stress!
The city, Edinburgh, honestly...since moving here to work and live...I've seen relatively little of Edinburgh...some day I work too much and should enjoy what the city offers. They do not know of my frugal ways as I plan to initiate a "get retirement early as an option" plan. Then again...am I working too hard for something too far away?
Of all things you see and hear...do you ever think about the possible problems that the person maybe facing? Small to medium sized problems isn't going to kill you but it will sap away your energy bit by bit without you knowing.
Take home message...do things that you like and makes you happy. It need not be successful but enjoy the journey and what it is that was being done. Life doesn't stop and wait for you...it will pitch you chances...chances i different forms and ways...it is up to you to choose how happy or sad you want to be!
